As of October 2026, Axis Bank says your credit card e-statement password is the first four letters of your name in capitals, followed by four digits of your date of birth. For Ravi Kumar, born 15 May 1990, that is usually RAVI1505. If that fails, Axis gives an alternative: the same four letters followed by your 9-digit Customer ID.

The password format

Axis Bank's support page "How do I open an e-statement" (listed under credit card statements) gives two passwords:

  1. Main password: "a combination of four letters of your name in UPPER CASE (as it appears on your Account Statement) (Ignore spaces and periods, if any) and four digits of your date of birth."
  2. Alternative password: the same four letters of your name in upper case, followed by "the nine digits of your customer Id."

Axis does not spell out the order of the four date digits on that page. The usual reading, and the one most people report working, is day then month (DDMM). If DDMM does not work, try the alternative Customer ID password before anything else. The email your statement arrived with also states the format.

Worked example

Ravi Kumar was born on 15 May 1990 and his Axis Customer ID is 123456789. His details are made up.

  • First four letters of the name on the statement, in capitals: RAVI
  • Day and month of birth: 1505
  • Password: RAVI1505
  • Alternative: RAVI + 123456789 = RAVI123456789

Names with initials. Axis says to ignore spaces and full stops. If the statement shows "S. MEENA IYER", the first four letters are SMEE, not S.ME or MEEN. Always work from the name exactly as it is printed on the statement, not how you usually write it.

If the password doesn't work

  • Use capitals. The letters must be upper case. ravi1505 will not open the file.
  • Check the printed name. If your name is printed with a title, initial or a different spelling, use the first four letters as printed, skipping spaces and dots.
  • Try the Customer ID option. Your 9-digit Customer ID is shown in the Axis Mobile app and internet banking profile, and on your welcome letter.
  • Short first names. If your first name has fewer than four letters, the next letters usually come from the following word, since spaces are ignored (for example "OM PRAKASH" becomes OMPR).
  • Date of birth on record. If the bank has a different date of birth on file, the DOB password will not match. The Customer ID option avoids this.
  • Still stuck? Download the statement again from the Axis Mobile app or internet banking, or contact Axis Bank customer care.

Removing the password so you don't have to type it again

Once the statement opens, you can save a copy without the password, so it opens straight away next time or can be uploaded to a loan, visa or tax portal that rejects locked files. On iPhone, iPad or Mac you can do this with UnKey: open the Axis Bank PDF, enter the password once, and save an unlocked copy. It works offline, nothing is uploaded, and any password you choose to save stays in your device Keychain behind Face ID or Touch ID. UnKey only removes a password you already know; it does not guess or crack one. Other PDF tools, including the print-to-PDF option on most computers, can also save an unlocked copy.
