Bandhan Bank account statements are reported to open with the first four letters of your name in capitals, followed by your date of birth as DDMM. For Ravi Kumar, born 15 May 1990, that would be RAVI1505.

As of October 2026, Bandhan's FAQ confirms that statements are password-protected and says the password rule is shown in a pop-up when you download, but we could not read the rule itself on a Bandhan page, so treat it as reported. Check the pop-up or the email the statement came with.

The password format

Bandhan Bank's FAQ page says interest certificates and account statements downloaded through Internet Banking and the mBandhan app are password-protected, including FD and RD statements. When you choose PDF, "a Password combination pop-up will appear on the screen". Read it before you close it: it tells you the exact password.

  • Reported account statement password: first 4 letters of your name in capitals + DDMM of your date of birth. This is the wording attributed to Bandhan's internet banking login page, which we could not load.
  • Neo+ Digital FD advice (confirmed): the FAQ says the FD advice emailed after you book a Neo+ Digital Fixed Deposit opens with your date of birth in DDMM format, for example 1505.
  • Request-tracker downloads: the FAQ says a statement downloaded from the CASA Statement Request Tracker screen is not password-protected.

Worked example

Ravi Kumar, born 15 May 1990, downloads a PDF statement in the mBandhan app.

  1. He reads the password pop-up on screen.
  2. If it describes name plus DDMM: first four letters RAVI + 1505 = RAVI1505.
  3. His Neo+ FD advice, emailed separately, opens with 1505.

If the password doesn't work

  • Read the pop-up or email. It is the most reliable source for that specific file.
  • Capitals. Try the letters in upper case.
  • Name as per bank records. Use the name exactly as Bandhan holds it; it may include an initial or start with a surname.
  • Leading zeros. 5 January is 0501.
  • Download again. If you missed the pop-up, download the statement again and note the rule. The FAQ says statements from the request tracker screen have no password.
  • Still stuck? Contact Bandhan Bank through its official website or visit your branch. The bank will never ask for your password or OTP.

Removing the password so you don't have to type it again

Once you know the password, you can save a copy of the Bandhan Bank statement without it, so it opens straight away next time or can be uploaded to a loan, visa or tax portal that rejects locked files. On iPhone, iPad or Mac you can do this with UnKey: open the PDF, enter the password once, and save an unlocked copy. It works offline, nothing is uploaded, and any password you choose to save stays in your device Keychain behind Face ID or Touch ID. UnKey only removes a password you already know; it does not guess or crack one. Other PDF tools, including the print-to-PDF option on most computers, can also save an unlocked copy.
