CAMS / KFintech CAS Password (Mutual Funds, 2026)
The password you chose yourself when requesting the Consolidated Account Statement on the CAMS or KFintech website.
| Document | Password | Status |
|---|---|---|
| CAMS + KFintech CAS requested on camsonline.com | Password you set in the request form: 8–15 characters, alphanumeric, starts with a letter, at least one uppercase letter, one number and one of @ # $ * _ e.g. Ravi Kumar typed Ravi@2026 in the form, so the PDF opens with Ravi@2026 | Confirmed by the issuer Source |
| CAS requested on KFintech (mfs.kfintech.com) | Self-chosen 'self-extraction password' entered in the request form: minimum 8 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter and more e.g. Priya Sharma typed Priya#1988x in the form, so the PDF opens with Priya#1988x | Confirmed by the issuer Source |
A mutual fund Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) requested from CAMS or KFintech opens with the password you typed into the request form yourself. It is not your PAN or date of birth. If Ravi Kumar entered Ravi@2026 when he asked for the statement, the PDF opens with Ravi@2026.
As of October 2026, both registrars say this on their request pages: CAMS and KFintech.
The password format
CAMS and KFintech are the registrars (RTAs) that keep records for almost all Indian mutual funds. Either one can email you a CAS covering funds serviced by both.
CAMS (camsonline.com)
On the CAS request page you enter your registered email, optionally your PAN, and a password. CAMS says: "the statement will be encrypted using the password provided by you in the form above, and emailed only to the address registered in your folio." Its rules for that password are:
- Alphanumeric, and it must start with a letter
- 8 to 15 characters long
- At least one uppercase letter and one number
- At least one of these special characters: @ # $ * _
KFintech (mfs.kfintech.com)
KFintech's request page asks you to "enter a self-extraction password to secure the statement" and says "you will need this password to open the statement". It needs at least 8 characters, including an uppercase and a lowercase letter, plus its other listed rules.
Worked example
- Priya Sharma opens the CAS page on CAMS, enters the email registered in her folios and types the password
Priya#1988xtwice. - A few minutes later an email arrives with the CAS attached.
- She opens the PDF and types
Priya#1988x, exactly as she chose it, including the capital P.
If the password doesn't work
- It is case-sensitive. Type it exactly as you entered it, including capitals and the special character.
- Forgot what you typed? Neither page offers a way to recover it. Request a fresh CAS with a new password you write down; it is quick and free.
- Several requests, several passwords. If you requested more than once, each PDF uses the password from that request. Match the email time to the request.
- Statement from somewhere else? A CAS that arrived without you requesting it may be the depository CAS from NSDL or CDSL, which opens with your PAN in capital letters. A statement downloaded through an app or broker may follow that app's own rule. Check the email the file came with.
- No email arriving? CAMS sends only to the email registered in your folios. Update your email with the fund or registrar first.
Tips for picking the password
Because you choose it, pick something you will remember but that is not your PAN or date of birth on its own. Write it down somewhere safe, or save it in your password manager, the moment you submit the form.
Removing the password so you don't have to type it again
Once the file is open, you can save a copy without the password so you are not typing it every time you need the statement, for example when you hand it to your CA at tax time. On iPhone, iPad or Mac, UnKey does this offline: you enter the password once, it saves an unlocked copy, and nothing is uploaded anywhere. It only works when you already know the password; it does not guess or crack passwords. Other PDF tools, such as printing to a new PDF from your PDF viewer, can do the same job. Keep the unlocked copy somewhere private, because it shows your holdings and PAN.
