5paisa contract notes open with your PAN card number in uppercase. If Ravi Kumar's PAN is ABCPK1234L, he types ABCPK1234L.

As of October 2026, 5paisa's help article What is the password to open the contract note? says to use your PAN card number as the password and to "Ensure that you enter the PAN card number in uppercase." Its download guide repeats this: "To open the contract note, enter your PAN card number in uppercase letters."

The password format

Your PAN is 10 characters: five letters, four digits, one letter. Type all of it, with the letters in capitals and no spaces.

Worked example

  • Account holder (made-up): Priya Sharma
  • PAN: BQKPS4821M
  • Contract note password: BQKPS4821M

Downloading a 5paisa contract note

From 5paisa's download guide:

On the website

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Open My Reports, then Other Reports.
  3. Select Bills and Contracts.
  4. Click download for the date you need, or use the bulk download option at the bottom of the screen.

In the app

  1. Log in and go to your Profile, then My Reports.
  2. Choose Bills and Contracts, then Trading Bills.
  3. Tap the download icon for the date.

Downloaded files use the same PAN password as the emailed ones. The bulk download is handy at the end of the financial year, when your CA asks for every contract note at once.

If the password doesn't work

  • Caps lock. The PAN letters must be capitals. abcpk1234l will not work where ABCPK1234L is expected.
  • No spaces. Phone keyboards and copy-paste sometimes add a space at the end. Type the PAN by hand if pasting fails.
  • Whose PAN? Use the PAN of the account holder. For a parent's or spouse's account, it is their PAN, not yours.
  • Is it really a contract note? A Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) from NSDL or CDSL, or a mutual fund CAS from CAMS or KFintech, follows its own rules. Check who sent the email.
  • HUF or corporate accounts. Use the PAN of the HUF or company that holds the account.
  • Still stuck? Check the email the contract note came with, then contact 5paisa support.

Removing the password so you don't have to type it again

Once the file is open, you can save a copy without the password so you are not typing it every time you need the contract note. On iPhone, iPad or Mac, UnKey does this offline: you enter the password once, it saves an unlocked copy, and nothing is uploaded anywhere. It only works when you already know the password; it does not guess or crack passwords. On Android, the file opens with the password in Google Files, Google Drive or Adobe Acrobat Reader, and you can usually save a copy without the password by printing it to PDF. Keep the unlocked copy somewhere private, because it shows your trades and PAN.
