ICICI Bank account e-statements are reported to open with the first four letters of the account name in lowercase, followed by your day and month of birth (DDMM). For Ravi Kumar, born 15 May 1990, that would be ravi1505.
This format was published on ICICI Bank's own help site, but we could not open that page to confirm it as of October 2026, so treat it as reported, not confirmed. The email your statement arrived with states the exact format; check it first.
The password format
The format below is widely quoted from ICICI's help-centre answer "What is the password to open my e-statement?". That page was not reachable when we checked, so we have not verified the wording ourselves.
- Savings account: first 4 letters of the account title, in lowercase, then your date and month of birth as DDMM.
- Current account: first 4 letters of the account (business) name, in lowercase, then the date and month of incorporation as DDMM.
- No extras: leave out spaces, special characters and salutations such as Mr or Mrs.
- Alternative: your 12-digit account number, with its last digits shown in the email's subject line as a hint.
- Joint accounts: use the first account holder's name and date of birth.
Some websites say the letters are in capitals, or add the birth year. The version attributed to ICICI uses lowercase and DDMM only. If one version fails, try the other, then go back to the email.
Worked example
Ravi Kumar was born on 15 May 1990 and his ICICI savings account is in the name "Ravi Kumar".
- First four letters of the account name, lowercase:
ravi - Day and month of birth as DDMM:
1505 - Password:
ravi1505
If his name were Om Rao, the first four letters would come from "omrao" with the space removed: omra.
If the password doesn't work
- Check the case. Try all lowercase first, then capitals.
- Use the name as the bank has it. The account title may include a middle name or initial, or a spelling different from what you use day to day. It is printed at the top of your statement or passbook.
- Leading zeros. 5 January is
0501, not51. - Try the account number. Type the full 12-digit account number with no spaces.
- Credit card statements are different. ICICI credit card statements have their own format; see our ICICI credit card statement guide.
- Download it again. You can view and download statements in iMobile or internet banking; ICICI's statements page lists the ways to get one. You can also contact ICICI Bank customer care.
Removing the password so you don't have to type it again
Once you know the password, you can save a copy of the ICICI Bank e-statement without it, so it opens straight away next time or can be uploaded to a loan, visa or tax portal that rejects locked files. On iPhone, iPad or Mac you can do this with UnKey: open the PDF, enter the password once, and save an unlocked copy. It works offline, nothing is uploaded, and any password you choose to save stays in your device Keychain behind Face ID or Touch ID. UnKey only removes a password you already know; it does not guess or crack one. Other PDF tools, including the print-to-PDF option on most computers, can also save an unlocked copy.
