As of October 2026, Indian Bank statement PDFs are commonly reported to open with your full account number, typed without spaces. If Lakshmi Devi's account number is 6012345678, her password would be 6012345678. Indian Bank does not publish this rule on its website, so check the email your statement came with.

The password format

Indian Bank's internet banking page lists account statements among its online services but does not say how the PDF is protected. Guides that cover Indian Bank statements mostly agree that the password is the complete account number, with every digit and nothing else: no spaces, no hyphens, no branch code.

One or two sources mention other patterns, such as a name and date of birth combination, but these are not widely reported. Indian Bank merged with Allahabad Bank in 2020, and statements for older Allahabad Bank accounts or from different channels (email, net banking, the IndOASIS app) may follow their own rule. When the email or download screen states a password format, follow that.

Worked example

Lakshmi Devi has an Indian Bank savings account numbered 6012345678. This number is made up.

  • Password: 6012345678
  • Not 60 1234 5678 (spaces) and not just the last few digits

If your account number is printed with spaces in your passbook, type it as one continuous string of digits.

Where to find your account number

Your account number is on the first page of your passbook, on your cheque book, at the top of any earlier statement, and on the account summary screen in Indian Bank net banking or the IndOASIS app. On a phone, it is easiest to copy it from the app and paste it into the PDF password box, which avoids typing mistakes.

If the password doesn't work

  • Read the email. The covering email or SMS is the most reliable source for your statement's password and overrides general guides like this one.
  • Use the full number. Copy the account number from your passbook or the app rather than typing from memory, and include any leading zeros.
  • Customer ID is different. Your Customer ID (CIF) is not the account number. If the account number fails, the email may refer to the CIF instead.
  • Merged accounts. If you were an Allahabad Bank customer, make sure you use your current Indian Bank account number, not the old one.
  • Several accounts. Each statement is usually locked with the number of the account it covers.
  • Still stuck? Ask your branch or Indian Bank customer care to confirm the format. The bank will never ask for your internet banking password, PIN or OTP.

Removing the password so you don't have to type it again

Once you know the password, you can save a copy of the Indian Bank statement without it, so it opens straight away next time or can be uploaded to a loan, visa or tax portal that rejects locked files. On iPhone, iPad or Mac you can do this with UnKey: open the PDF, enter the password once, and save an unlocked copy. It works offline, nothing is uploaded, and any password you choose to save stays in your device Keychain behind Face ID or Touch ID. UnKey only removes a password you already know; it does not guess or crack one. Other PDF tools, including the print-to-PDF option on most computers, can also save an unlocked copy.
