As of October 2026, IndusInd Bank's statement emails say the password is the first four letters of your name in capitals, followed by your date of birth as DDMM. For Ravi Kumar, born 15 May 1990, that is RAVI1505. You can also use your 8-digit Customer ID instead.
The exact format is also stated in the email the statement arrived with.
The password format
IndusInd Bank publishes its statement email templates on its own website. Both the monthly statement of account email and the NRI statement of account email say:
- "Your 8 character password is a combination of first 4 characters of your name and your date of birth in the DDMM format."
- The password is shown in UPPER CASE only and is case-sensitive.
- "As an alternate option, you can also use your 8 digit Customer ID as your password."
The bank's own examples include Naresh Kumar, born 15 September, giving NARE1509, and Raj Mathur, born 25 February, giving RAJM2502. The second example shows that when your first name is shorter than four letters, you carry on into the next part of the name.
Worked example
Ravi Kumar, born 15 May 1990, Customer ID 12345678.
- First four letters of the name, capitals:
RAVI - Date of birth as DDMM:
1505 - Password:
RAVI1505, or12345678using the Customer ID
For Om Das, born 3 July: the letters are OMDA and the password is OMDA0307.
Only the day and month are used. The year of birth is not part of the password, so RAVI15051990 would be rejected. A statement you download yourself from IndusInd net banking or the IndusMobile app may follow a different rule; if so, it is usually shown on screen at the time of download.
If the password doesn't work
- Capitals. The password is case-sensitive, so check that Caps Lock or your phone keyboard is giving capitals.
- Leading zeros. 3 July is
0307. - Name as per bank records. Use the name the bank has on file, which may start with a surname or initial.
- Try the Customer ID. All 8 digits, no spaces.
- Business accounts. Non-individual accounts may use other details; read the email that came with the statement.
- Credit card statements are different. See our IndusInd credit card statement guide.
- Still stuck? The statement emails list IndusInd phone banking numbers, and the bank's FAQ page covers other help options. IndusInd will never ask for your password, PIN or OTP.
Removing the password so you don't have to type it again
Once you know the password, you can save a copy of the IndusInd Bank statement without it, so it opens straight away next time or can be uploaded to a loan, visa or tax portal that rejects locked files. On iPhone, iPad or Mac you can do this with UnKey: open the PDF, enter the password once, and save an unlocked copy. It works offline, nothing is uploaded, and any password you choose to save stays in your device Keychain behind Face ID or Touch ID. UnKey only removes a password you already know; it does not guess or crack one. Other PDF tools, including the print-to-PDF option on most computers, can also save an unlocked copy.
