Kotak Credit Card Statement Password (2026)
Kotak's own guide says the statement PDF password is usually your date of birth in MMYYYY format; other formats are reported, so check your statement email.
| Document | Password | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Credit card statement PDF | Date of birth in MMYYYY format (Kotak says 'usually') e.g. Sunil Mehta, born 14 June 1991: 061991 | Confirmed by the issuer Source |
| Credit card statement PDF (reported by third-party guides) | First 4 letters of name on the card + date of birth DDMM e.g. Sunil Mehta, born 14 June 1991: SUNI1406 or suni1406 | Commonly reported – not confirmed by the issuer Source |
As of October 2026, Kotak Mahindra Bank's own credit card statement guide says the PDF password is usually your date of birth in MMYYYY format. For Sunil Mehta, born 14 June 1991, that would be 061991. Kotak says "usually", and other formats are reported, so the email your statement arrived with is the best check.
The password format
Kotak's guide to viewing and downloading your credit card statement (published in Hindi on kotak.bank.in) says: "सामान्यत: आपकी जन्मतिथि, MMYYYY फॉर्मेट में PDF का पासवर्ड होता है", meaning "Usually, your date of birth in MMYYYY format is the PDF password."
MMYYYY is month then four-digit year, with no day. That is unusual among Indian banks, and the word "usually" means it may not apply to every card or every statement. We could not find an English Kotak page that repeats it.
Third-party guides describe a different format for Kotak card statements: the first four letters of the name on the card plus your date of birth as DDMM, some saying in lower case. Kotak does not confirm this on its website, so treat it as a fallback to try, not a fact.
| Format | Example | Source |
|---|---|---|
| DOB as MMYYYY | 061991 | Kotak's own guide ("usually") |
| Name (4 letters) + DDMM | SUNI1406 / suni1406 | Commonly reported, not confirmed by Kotak |
Worked example
Sunil Mehta was born on 14 June 1991. His details are made up.
- Month of birth:
06 - Year of birth:
1991 - Password per Kotak's guide:
061991 - If that fails, the commonly reported alternative:
SUNI+1406=SUNI1406, thensuni1406
If the password doesn't work
- Read the statement email. Kotak's statement email normally states the password rule. Because the formats reported for Kotak vary, this matters more than usual.
- Leading zero on the month. June is
06, not6. - Do not keep guessing. Try the two formats above, then stop and check the email or ask the bank.
- Download without the email. Kotak's help page on checking your credit card bill explains how to view statements in Net Banking (Credit Card > Statement) and the Kotak mobile app.
- Date of birth on record. If the bank has a different date of birth on file, a date-based password will not match. Customer care can confirm what is on record.
Removing the password so you don't have to type it again
Once the statement opens, you can save a copy without the password, so it opens straight away next time or can be uploaded to a loan, visa or tax portal that rejects locked files. On iPhone, iPad or Mac you can do this with UnKey: open the Kotak PDF, enter the password once, and save an unlocked copy. It works offline, nothing is uploaded, and any password you choose to save stays in your device Keychain behind Face ID or Touch ID. UnKey only removes a password you already know; it does not guess or crack one. Other PDF tools, including the print-to-PDF option on most computers, can also save an unlocked copy.
