ICICI Lombard Policy PDF Password (Health & Motor)

Health policy PDFs open with the first four letters of the primary policyholder's name plus birth date (DDMM); motor policy PDFs open with the last four digits of the vehicle registration or chassis number.

An ICICI Lombard health policy PDF opens with the first four letters of the primary policyholder's name followed by the day and month of birth (DDMM), for example ravi1505. A motor policy PDF opens with the last four digits of your vehicle registration number (or of the chassis number), for example 4321.

Health policy password

The FAQ gives the syntax as "First four characters of name + DDMM". The name is the primary policyholder's name, the person who bought the policy, not necessarily the person who is ill or claiming. The rules are strict:

• Use the first four characters exactly as the name is written, including an initial. ICICI Lombard's own example: for "K. Abhishek", the password starts kabh, not abhi. Leave out the dot.
• Type the letters all lowercase or all uppercase. Mixed case such as Ravi1505 is wrong.
• Date is DDMM, two digits each, no slashes. The year is not used.

Motor policy password

For car and two-wheeler policies, the password is four digits. Use either:

• the last four digits of the vehicle registration number, or
• the last four digits of the chassis number.

If the number part of your registration has fewer than four digits, enter it as it is. ICICI Lombard's examples: MH43A111 gives 111, MH43A01 gives 01, and MH43A1 gives 1.

If the password doesn't work

• Name as printed on the policy. Use the spelling and initials in ICICI Lombard's records. Check the policyholder name on the policy schedule or the email.
• Short names. The rule is the first four characters of the name as recorded, so a surname or initial written first changes the password.
• Family floater. Use the primary policyholder's name and date of birth, not a family member's.
• Motor: try both numbers. If the registration digits fail, try the last four digits of the chassis number, which is on your RC.
• No lockout. The FAQ says there is no limit on incorrect attempts, so you can try carefully without being locked out.
• Older or newer formats. The FAQ is dated 2021, and other ICICI Lombard documents may use other rules. The email your policy came with is the authority. If you are still stuck, download the policy again from the ICICI Lombard website or IL TakeCare app, or contact customer care.

The FAQ also says this password cannot be removed or changed on ICICI Lombard's side. You can, however, save your own unlocked copy once you have opened it.

Removing the password so you don't have to type it again

Once the file opens, you can keep a copy without the password. On iPhone, iPad or Mac, UnKey does this offline: you type the password once, it saves an unlocked copy, and nothing is uploaded.
