The ICICI Prudential Life e-Welcome Kit or policy document opens with the first four letters of your name followed by your day and month of birth (DDMM). For Ravi Kumar, born 15 May 1990, that is ravi1505.

As of October 2026, ICICI Prudential's e-Welcome Kit page says: "The password for the E-Welcome Kit/Policy document is a combination of the first four letters of your name and your date of birth in DDMM format." Its own example is Amit Kumar, born 03.12.1956, with the password amit0312.

What the e-Welcome Kit is

The e-Welcome Kit is the digital version of your policy pack. ICICI Prudential says it includes the policy certificate, first premium receipt, key feature document and the policy terms and conditions, and is valid for service requests. It is issued for policies taken after April 2011. You can request it again from the same page using your policy number and date of birth, or mobile/email and date of birth.

The password format

  • First four letters of your name, as in ICICI Prudential's records. The official example uses lowercase (amit).
  • Date of birth as DDMM: two digits for the day, two for the month. No year, no slashes.
  • No spaces between the parts.

Worked examples

If the password doesn't work

  • Lowercase first. The official example is all lowercase. If that fails, try the same letters in capitals.
  • Leading zeros. 7 January is 0701, not 71.
  • Name as per policy records. Use the first name exactly as it appears on the policy. If your name was recorded with an initial or a different spelling, use that.
  • Whose name? If the policy is on someone else's life (for example a child plan), try the policyholder's details, and if that fails the life assured's. The page says only "your name and your date of birth", so the email that came with the kit is the final word.
  • Other documents. This rule is stated for the e-Welcome Kit/policy document. Premium receipts, unit statements and tax certificates may use a different password, which is normally stated in the email they arrive with.
  • Still stuck? Request the kit again from the e-Welcome Kit page or contact ICICI Prudential customer service.

Removing the password so you don't have to type it again

Once the file opens, you can keep a copy without the password. On iPhone, iPad or Mac, UnKey does this offline: you type the password once, it saves an unlocked copy, and nothing is uploaded. It only works when you already know the password. It does not guess or crack passwords. On Android, the PDF opens with the password in Google Files, Google Drive or Adobe Acrobat Reader, and you can save a copy without the password by printing it to PDF. Keep the unlocked copy somewhere private, because anyone who gets it can read it.
